Mr. H. Halstead, who is attached to the External Affairs Department, ha? been appointed to a commission in the Royal Guiana Constabulary and will leave New Zealand by the Rangitiki on November 19, says a Wellington Press Association message. The appointment, which is of a purely military nature, is made by the Colonial Office following a recommendation by the New Zealandselection board, over which the Gover-nor-General presides at Government House.
