IMPROVING WEATHER

ANTI-CYCLONE COMING By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Tire weather will be unsettled, dull and misty, with rain in most districts, heavy in parts of the North Island and the north-east portion of the South Island, states the 4 p.tn. forecast. Conditions will be mainly fair, however, in Westland and improving gradually elsewhere from to-morrow. Temperatures will be cold. A cyclonic depression still covers the North Island but is losing its intensity. An anti-cyclone is advancing from eastern Australia onto the Tasman Sea. Winds will be westerly at first north of Kawhia and East Cape and otherwise south-easterly to southerly, moderate to strong generally and reaching gale force at places north of Farewell Spit and Akaroa but decreasing to-morrow. Seas will be rough to high north of Farewell Spit and Akaroa and elsewhere moderate to rather rough.
