MR. DICKIE’S ILLNESS

CONDITION SATISFACTORY. VISIT OF MR. W. BROMLEY. Mr. H. G. Dickie, M.P., is suffering an illness and has been admitted to a private hospital at Hawera. His condition was reported last night to be very satisfactory, but it is expected he will have to remain in hospital for some days. t Mr.’ Dickie yesterday received from the Hon.' S. G. Smith, Minister of Employment, a telegram indicating that Mr. W. Bromley, deputy-chairman of the Unemployment Board, and Mr. J. S. Hunter, Commissioner of Unemployment, would be at Hawera to-day. They desired to meet representatives of the unemployed to discuss unemployment matters affecting Hawera. A promise to discuss with Hawera unemployed relief workers any anomalies that could be removed was made by the Minister when speaking at Hawera on Tuesday night. The promise was made as the result of representations by Mr. W. W. Cousins at the end of the speech.
