HUGE AIR FLEET

IMPERIAL AIRWAYS PLANES. FIRST STEP IN EXPANSION. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, Oct. 28. Imperial Airways will shortly order 29 giant flying-boats, bringing the company’s total fleet to 83, says the Daily Telegraph’s aeronautical correspondent. This may be regarded as the first step towards regular Empire services. Each plane will have a range of 1500 miles and a cruising speed of 160 miles an hour. They have insufficient range for the Atlantic service. Twelve land planes are also under order.
