FURTHER RAINFALL
CHANGE TO SOUTH SOON By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The weather will be unsettled, squally and misty, with fairly general rain, heavy in places, especially in central districts, says the 4 p.m. forecast. Temperatures will become cold, with snow on some of the ranges. An intense depression covers the eastern Tasman Sea and New Zealand, low centres being located respectively east and west of the South Island. An anticyclone is situated over eastern Australia. Winds will be westerly, backing to southerly north of Cook Strait, with southerlies thence southwards, moderate to strong generally and of gale force at places. Seas will be rough to high on the west coast of the North Island and elsewhere rather rough to rough.
