By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received 9.15 p.m.

Port Au Prince (Haiti), Oct. 27. Official sources to-night estimated that at least 2000 persons are dead or missing as the result of the hurricane which swept the southern peninsula of Haiti last week-end. The food crop damage is not believed as great as was at first feared but thousands are homeless and hungry. Heavy rains accompanying the hurricane forced all streams far out of their . banks.
