PAIRS BOWLING

TOURNAMENT AT HAWERA PARK.

FINNERTY AND FRANKLIN WIN. The annual pairs bowling tournament of the Park Bowling Club was held yesterday. The green was in splendid order and played very well, despite several showers of rain. Thirty-six players, practically all club members, took part. The skips’ division was won by Finnerty, with 5 wins and one loss. Three leads, Franklin, Dahl and Comerford, tied with 5 wins and one loss each, Franklin winning on the aggregate. Six rounds, each of an hour’s duration, were played. At the conclusion of play the president, Mr. J. Goodwin, presented the trophies. Details are: — Skips.

Dickie, M.P., National Government candidate for the Patea seat, will address electors at the Grand Theatre, Hawera, to-night at 8 o’clock. Addresses at other centres are advertised. , Dr. G. J. Adams, Democrat party candidate for the Patea seat, will address i electors at Manutahi to-night and at Kai Iwi to-morrow night.
