FIELD DAY AT TOKO
/ DEMONSTRATION ON STOCK.
The Toko branch of the Farmers’ Union organised a field day at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Claridge on Friday. Sorensen, Mangorei, gave a talk on pigs. The children in particular showed their interest by plying the demonstrators with questions and by taking notes of what they learned. A cow' judging competition for which all the children entered was won by Jack Bishop (Toko), who was 3| points from the judge’s estimate. Charlie Lawrence (Toko) was second, four points from the judge’s estimate. In. another competition six cows were tied in a row-

Murray, president of the branch, thanked Mr. and Mrs. Claridge for their hospitality and the demonstrators for their addresses. Mr. Harper expressed thanks on behalf of the children.
