The Wellington Racing Club’s spring meeting opened at Trentham in steady rain from the south but the weather lifted soon after the start and the remainder of the day was fine though cold. The attendance was only fair. The track was soft and slow. The totalisator handled £21,745 (win £10,817 and place £10,928), an increase of £4BB compared with the corresponding day last year.
