CONSIDERATION BY PARLIAMENT. NON-CONTENTIOUS MEASURES. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Oct. 24. In the House of Representatives today the Native Purposes Bill was read the first time and the second time pro forma, and referred to the Native Affairs Committee. The House proceeded to deal with non-contentious Bills. The Hamilton Borough Council Empowering Bill, Auckland Harbour Board Empowering, Southland Land Drainage, Wellington High Levels Tramway Amendment and Empowering, Napier Airport, Hawkes Bay County Empowering, Dunedin City Empowering, Wellington City Empowering and Amendment, Masterton Trust Lands Amendment, and Napier Foreshore; 'Extension Bills were each read the second time. These Bills, with the Nelson Waterworks Extension, Featherston County Water Race Districts Validation, Christchurch District Drainage, and Wanganui Harbour District and Empowering Amendment Bills were considered in committee. 1

In these Bills, with the exception of the Wellington High Levels Tramway Amendment and Empowering Bill, were read the third time? and passed. The Wellington measure was held over for further consideration.
