The Misses D., M. and B. Simpson, who have been staying with Mrs. Woods, have left for Awakino, where they are the guests of Mrs. Purcell. Mrs. Hill has returned to Auckland after being the guest of her sister, Mrs. L. Nodder. . Miss Milligan, Manaia, is the guest of Mrs. Butler, sent. Miss K. Larmer visited Okato and Pungarehu last week-end. Mrs F. Drake is the guest of her daughter-in-law; Mrs. A. Drake, Wellington. The Misses Meuli, Wanganui, are the guests of Mrs. Wanklyn. Mrs. Leech was “at home” to friends last Monday and Tuesday afternoons. Miss W. L. Whittington will leave by car this morning 'for Auckland, where she will be the guest of Mrs. Owen Bayly, Epsom, for the week-end. Mrs. R. Keenan left on Thursday morning for Featherston, where she will live. Mrs. Cattle, New Plymouth, was a recent visitor to Inglewood. Mrs. Wood is spending the week-end with friends on Durham Road. Miss Enid McAllum entertained on Thursday afternoon. Mrs. E. Julian, Waitara, is staying with Mrs. Butler. Mrs. H. Wills, Eltham, was the guest of Mrs. S. Wanklyn during the week. Mrs. S. G. McGowan will leave by car this morning for Auckland, where she will be the guest of her mother, Mrs. McPhail, Birkenhead. Mrs. F. Watson has returned to her home on Hurford Road after visiting her sister, Mrs. F. Ryan, Tariki. Mrs. L. Butler left on Thursday to spend a few days’ holiday at Wellington. Mrs, Buckley, who has been the guest of Mrs. L. Nodder, has returned to Wanganui. GAIETY CLUB DANCE. The Inglewood Gaiety Club’s committee held a successful dance on Thursday in the parish hall. Non-dancers played flag five hundred, the winners being Mesdames Loveridge and Scott and the Misses J. Franklyn and I. Loveridge. Among those present were Mesdames A. Franklyn (nigger brown diagonal satin beaute), A. Gow (wine frock), R. Sutton (nigger brown marocain), F. Goy (wine crepe), Schriber (black frock), Longstaff (apple green satin), J. Scott (black and white crepe), Wilton (black frock relieved with tartan), M. A. T. Evans (black frock), J. Dobson (navy marocain trimmed with red and white), H. Julian (eau de nil crepe de chine/, A. C. Feaver (bottle green marocain) and J. Mischef ski (black and white crepe), and the Misses J. Franklyn (bottle green frock), I. Loveridge (black and white frock), E. Thomason (black ring velvet), A. Bocock (navy blue and white spotted marocain), J. Messenger (saxe blue floral crepe de chine), M. Feaver (pale pink marocain), F. Zimmerman (royal blue crepe), C. Devereux (navy blue and green marocain), I. Wells (green and white frock), A. Bocock (black and fawn floral frock), J. Ross (black moire and silver lame), E. Gyde (pale blue floral voile), M. Irvine (wine marocain), N. Crozier (cornflower blue georgette), N. Wilton (pale blue taffetas), L. Sutton (scarlet and white floral georgette), P. Mischefski (lime green marocain), J.-. Beaucop (black ring velvet skirt and orange brocaded blouse) and B. Eaves (scarlet ring velvet).
