HOPES EXCEEDED

DAIRY CONFERENCE SUCCESS.

CO-OPERATION OF AUSTRALIA.

By Telegraph—Press Association.

Wellington, Oct. 15.

Mr. C. P. Agar (deputy chairman of the Dairy Board), Mr. J. Dunlop ‘ (a member), Mr. H. E. Davis (London manager) and Mr. T. C. Brash (secretary) returned by 5 the Marama after conferring with the Australian Dairy Board and Ministers at Canberra regarding regulated marketing in Britain. Mr. Agar said the mission had been more successful than was expected and as a result he believed that New Zealand and the Commonwealth would work in closer co-operation in the future. Arrangements had been readied on forwarding shipments to England and the question of marketing secondary butter would be taken up by the new dairy board which was being constituted in Australia on the lines of the newly constituted New Zealand board. It had been arranged that annual conferences should be held between the boards and the .Australians would visit New Zealand next year. Commenting on the present price of butter in England, Mr. Agar said that the board hoped it would not go too high, as there would be a greater risk of dropping further back later.
