DOMAIN TENNIS COURT
MOTUROA RESIDENTS’ INTEREST. Moturoa residents having expressed a desire to form a tennis club, a special meeting of the Ngamotu domain committee was held at the domain during the week-end to consider rules and the control of the court formed near the entrance some years ago. Present were: Messrs. J. B. Simpson (chairman), H. Sanders (secretary), Jones, N. Bremer, Healey, Bartholomew and Sinclair.-
A draft of rules submitted by the secretary was adopted together with two that were amended and improved. Mr. Bremer, secretary of the club pro tern, is to submit rules and suggestions to a meeting of interested parties during this week. At the conclusion of the meeting members visited the site of the enlarged tennis courts started twv years ago by unemployed relief labour. It was mentioned by several members that the completion of the initial heavy work, which would not take much time if a gang of men was employed, would enable members of the committee and others interested in the domain to give much voluntary labour towards the further improvement of the site. The chairman was directed to ask the borough engineer when men could be available.
The delay in erecting the tool shed, which is a necessity, was considered. After the secretary had explained about the labour he had engaged he was authorised to take steps to hasten the work.
