Mr. W. G. Ewart, who recently retired from the public service, has returned to New Plymouth.

Constable Best, Matanui, West Coast, is visiting New Plymouth.

Sympathy with the relatives of Mrs. Jane R. Dougherty, Rahotu, a member of the Taranaki Education Board from 1903 to 1906, was expressed by the board yesterday.

Mr. Horace Cave, Democrat candidate for the New Plymouth seat at the forthcoming Parliamentary elections, arrived at New Plymouth yesterday from Wanganui. He is staying at the Criterion Hotel.
