CHANGEABLE WEATHER

ANTI-CYCLONE COMING

By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night.

The weather will be changeable in the North' Island and the north-east portion of the South Island, with scattered rain, but improving, says the 4 p.m. forecast. Elsewhere conditions will be fair to fine. Temperatures will be cool and some sharp inland frosts are probable in the South Island.

The pressure has risen slowly over New Zealand but a slight secondary depression has been crossing the North Island to-day in front of an anti-cyclone approaching across the Tasman. Winds will be variable at first in central regions and otherwise southerlies will prevail, .moderate maily but at times freshening in the Cook Strait area. Seas will be rather rough on parts of the west coast of the North Island and between Castlepoint and Kaikoura, and elsewhere smooth to moderate.
