HEALTH STAMP FUND
EDUCATION BOARD’S SUPPORT.
TEACHERS TO BE CIRCULARISED.
Full co-operation in circularising headteachers of Taranaki schools with statements of the aims and objects of the campaign was promised by the Taranaki Education Board when a deputation from the North Taranaki health stamp committee waited on it yesterday to request help with the campaign The deputation comprised Messrs. P. E. Stainton (chairman), and J. L. Walton (secretary). . The co-operation, through the board, of the headmasters of Taranaki schools was sought by Mr. Stainton. It was desired, he said, that information concerning the campaign should be disseminated by the teachers. Probably it would be possible for one person ,to have stamps at a schools. It might also be possible for essays on the campaign to be written by the children. The primary object of the deputation was to see whether the board would cooperate by circular Ling the schools. It was not intended to interfere in any way with ordinary school work. The chairman, Mr. J. A. Valentine, pointed out that at the last meeting the secretary was given power to co-operate in the campaign. There was really only one answer the board would give—that it was’prepared to co-operate in every possible way. “Thank you,” said Mr. Stainton. “Your action only confirms the opinion we have always held of the board—that it is only too willing at all times to co-operate with any movement to benefit the children.”
