OIL TANKER BURNING

FIRE ON NORWEGIAN SHIP. BRITISH ADMIRALTY ASSISTANCE. (British Official Wireless.) Rec. 5.5 p.m. Rugby, Oct. 14. The Norwegian oil-tanker Barfoim, of 9739 tons, caught fire last night in the English Channel 30 miles off the Devonshire coast. The fire was followed by an explosion. The destroyer Wrestler and an Admiralty tug were dispatched from Portland, and early this morning the vessel was taken in tow. Earlier the Torbay lifeboat put off to the Barfonn, but the Norwegian steamerTemeraire had already taken off 18 of the crew from the burning vessel. There is no definite information about the number of casualties.
