WOMEN’S DIVISION
Hiiiroa-Kiore: At the monthly meeting Mrs. Williams presided over an average attendance. One new member was welcomed. It was decided to suppoi t the health camp campaign by purchasing 5s worth of stamps. On September 20 a concert and dance for funds was held. Thanks were expressed to themembers of the Norfolk Road Women s Institute and to the Douglas Melody Four, who helped to make this concert a financial success. An afternoon was held at the home of Mrs. Williams on September 27 for Miss E. McLaughlan, when the members presented her with a varied assortment of. china and extended good wishes for the future. Two demonstrators from a sewing machine com-' pany gave an interesting exhibition of work both plain and fancy which can be done with this machine. Miss Zina Williarris was congratulated on being the winner of the cup for the most points in needlework in the primary school section of the Stratford horticultural show. The competition for an embroidered d’oyley resulted: Mrs. Mitchell 1, Miss Rogers 2, Miss Mitchell 3. The jam tarts competition resulted: Mrs. Williams 1, Mrs. Mitchell 2, Mrs. Rogers 3. Tea hostesses were Misses Blair and Knox.
