Mrs. C. Veale is visiting relatives at Tauranga. Mrs. D. Purdie, Auckland, is the guest of Mrs. James Purdie. Mrs. M. Frost is spending a holiday at Wellington. Mesdames W. K. Jonas, G. N. Fuller (Urenui), E. Elliot and P. Elliot (Onaero) motored to Taihape on Tuesday to attend the Jonas-Anderson wedding. Mrs. T. Weston is visiting New Plymouth. Mrs. W. L. Wright is visiting Auckland. Miss M. Ferin, Hawera, is visiting friends at Waitara. FAREWELL HELD AT TATU. POSTMISTRESS ENTERTAINED. Mrs. Alan Brown, Tatu, who is leaving the district, was guest of honour at an afternoon given by the women of Tatu. Mrs. Brown has been postmistress in the district for 30 years. The Tatu hall was decorated to represent a drawingroom. Afternoon tea was served. Mrs. McKay, Paparata, presented Mrs. Brown with a handbag and Mrs. Hedley Loft presented her with a bouquet from the women of Mangapara. Mrs. Brown said she was sorry to leave them all and did not know what she would do without her old friends. Recitations were given by Mrs. R. Walker and Miss Pratt, Strat-ford.-Those present were Mesdames Fugiere, Lilburne, Ruddick, Hedley Loft, R. Walker, E. Walker, McKay, Wilkie, sent., Brown and Reeves, Misses Ruddick (2) and Miss Pratt (Stratford). At a social and dance in the Tatu hall, the residents of Tatu presented Mr. Alan Brown with a cheque and the Rev. Mr. Alexander presented Mr. Brown with three volumes on behalf of the Tatu Sunday school.
