WOMEN’S DIVISION

Eltharti:—The monthly meeting was held at Mrs. Williams’ residence. Mrs. Cocker presided over a large attendance. Mrs. Treweek senr. had made a quilt of peggy squares, knitted by division members, and this was passed On to a necessitous case. It was decided to hold a euchre and dance party during the month. An interesting demonstration of the making of a “humpty” was given by Mrs. Stewart, who also offered further demonstrations later. Mrs. Cocker thanked Mrs. Stewart. Whangamojnona: A combined meeting of the Women’s Division and the box lecture group was held at the home, of Mrs. Spencer at Kohuratahi. In spite of the weather there was a good attendance presided over by Mrs. Stockwell. It was decided, to take a par -si of goods for sale from the soldiers’ re-establishment committee. The theory and a practical demonstration of rug-making was given.
