PERSONAL AND GENERAL. Mr. J. Smyllie left Tariki last week to live at Tauranga. Corporal W. Crowe, representing the Tariki platoon of the Taranaki Regiment, left last week to undergo a special course of instruction at Trentham. A word-building competition held by the Tariki Ladies’ Hockey Club was won by Mrs. E. Therkleson with a total of 1800 words. . t At a meeting of the Tariki branch or the Farmers’ Union on Wednesday it was decided to postpone a smoke concert in conjunction with the presentation of trophies won in hay and ensilage competitions. „ The members of the Tariki Bowlmg Club are engaged in preparing the green for the opening of the new season. The continued cold weather is having an adverse affect on the milk supply at the factory, and many fanners are faced with the prospect of a shortage of feed in the near future.
