Mrs. C. C. Stanners and Miss M. Gibson have returned from a trip to North Auckland and Rotorua.

Mesdames G. H. Brown (Mangamingi), Carrick and A. Craig left for Auckland by car on Thursday. Mrs. Irwin sent, is visiting her daughter, Mrs. W. O. Hill.

Mrs. M. Bevan, Christchurch, is visiting Mrs. D. H. Saunders. Mrs, E. E. Carter was hostess at bridge yesterday afternoon. Mrs, Riddle entertained at afternoon tea on Tuesday. Those present were Mesdames D. Syme, Guthrie, A. Tiplady, R. H. Gover, M. Crawford and B. H. Goldsmith and Miss Kelsey. Mrs. Leatham is staying at Pukekohe. Miss S. Turkington is visiting Christchurch.

Mrs. Humphreys is spending a holiday at Auckland. Mrs. H. P. Wills has returned from a holiday at Foxion. Mrs. P. de Launay is visiting Wellington.

Mrs. G. W. Peebles has returned from a visit to New Plymouth. Mrs. A. MeWilliam was hostess at afternoon tea on Tuesday afternoon. Her guests included Mesdames R. Lee, B. Brown, H. C. Best, A. A. Stewart, E. E. Carter, Hart • and Oxbrow (Te Aroha) and Misses Hughes and B. Pease. Mrs. B. Brown was hostess at bridge on Wednesday evening. Tire players were Mesdames R. H. Gover, Riddle, W. D. Hart, Langston, Mackay, Higgins, C. A. Belcher, M. Kebble, Sexton and B. H. Goldsmith and Misses D. Riddle, Madden and F. Frazer.

Mesdames Sexton, P. Coleman, R. S. Allan, M. Kebble and Mackay were Mrs. R. Lee’s guests at afternoon tea on Thursday. Mrs. H. Stanners senr. recently celebrated her 80th birthday and received a number of friends. A birthday cake was cut and good wishes expressed for future good health. Among those present at the badminton club dance on Thursday night were Mrs. C. C. Stanners and Misses W. Weir, W. Carter, G. Silver, T. Carter, ,K. Butler, J. Campbell, P. Fountaine, N. Seaver, Fake, (J. Mitchell, J. Peacock, Masters (Stratford) and J. Hale (Stratford). The hall was decorated in red and gold and Mrs. Attrill played the music. Extras were given by Miss G. Silver and Messrs. J Sheehy and L. Ware. Mr. E. Townsend was master of ceremdhies.
