The battle was the climax to a bitter dispute between majority and minority groups. Senor Martinez represented the State of Jalisco. The other three deputies’ wounds are serious. The minority bloc in Congress opened the pistol fight. The speaker, Senor Tavor, later declared that the incident had been previously arranged.
