WHEAT PRICE RISES
EFFECT OF CANADIAN POLICY. DOMINION CHIEF SUPPLIER. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright London, Sept. 10. Wheat scored a fresh rise to-day, Liverpool making a 2ld increase since the Canadian Government’s new fixed price of 87J cents, which is ahead of expectations. London millers increased the price of flour Is to 28s for 2801 b. It is possible that bakers will shortly increase the price of a 41b. loaf by Id to Bd. The Times’ city editor says that the Canadian authorities have certainly taken into account conditions throughout the world. Australia has now comparatively little remaining from the last crop, and prospects for the new crop are comparable with the last. The large stocks of the world on a broad survey remain in Canada, to which importing countries are likely to look during the present cereal year for rather more than half of their supplies.
