WHITEBAIT BY AIR
WEATHER PREVENTS DELIVERY. TAMAHINE SOLVES PROBLEM. By Telegraph—Press Association. Blenheim, Sept. 10. A strange hold-up is reported, from the Blenheim aerodrome, where Mr. J. J. Busch, a Canterbury Aero Club commercial pilot, was stranded, on account of bad weather, with an air cargo of 5501 b. of whitebait. He was faced with the problem of whether to sell it on the limited Blenheim market, which was already well stocked with the local article, or to hang on in the hopes that the weather would clear in time to enable him to land the consignment at Christchurch in good order and condition. The solution of the problem was to follow neither of these courses. The whitebait was shipped to Wellington on the Tamahine. Mr. Busch left Karamea for Christchurch yesterday on the second of a series of flights carrying whitebait to the city, but bad weather necessitated his crossing to Blenheim, where he landed late in the afternoon. To-day, though the weather at Blenheim was fine again after heavy rain, .conditions to the south preclude a flight to Christchurch, while Wellington was also unworkable by aircraft.
