NOTICE OF NEW LEGISLATION.

POLICY IN BROADCASTING.

By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Hon. C. E. Macmillan gave notice in the House of Representatives to-day of his intention to introduce the Rabbit Nuisance Amendment Bill, ana bir Alexander Young gave notice to introduce the Mental Defectives Amendment Bill, the Masseurs' Registration Amendment Bill and the Urban Farm Rating Amendment Bill. The Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes gave notice of intention to mtroduce the Law Practitioners Amendment Bill and the Commercial Trusts Amendment Bill and the Hon. Adam Hamilton to introduce the Rent Restriction Bill. Mr. W. J- Jordan (Lab., Manukau) asked the Postmaster-General whether he would make a definite statement o the Government’s policy concerning broadcasting as the present uncertainty regarding B stations was seriously affectipg the sale of radio sets, thereby causing the discharge of employees by manufacturers and dealers. Mr. Hamilton in reply said the Government was not aware that the present position was prejudicially affecting we sale of radio sets as the number of radio licenses was progressively increasing and New Zealand was well forward with regard to density of \ radio licenses per head of the population. The Government’s policy was laid down in the Broadcasting Act, which placed broadcasting in New Zealand on a national basis, controlled by a board. Mr. Forbes tabled the railways statement.
