CONTROL OF RABBITS

POWERS GIVEN TO BOARDS. RIGHT TO DEAL IN MATERIALS. (By Telegraph—Special Reporter.) Wellington, Last Night. Authority for rabbit boards to deal in materials used for the destruction ot rabbits is contained in the Rabbit Nuisance Amendment Bill, notice of which was given by the Minister of Agriculture, the Hon. C. E. Macmillan, in the House of Representatives to-day. Mr. Macmillan explained later that a doubt had been raised as to the powers of rabbit boards to purchase for re-sale direct to farmers poisons such as strychnine, phosphorus or carbon bisulphide, and other goJHs such as ammunition. The purpose of the Bill was to remove the doubt by authorising labbit boards to deal in poisons and to validate the action of rabbit boards in dealing m these materials in the past.
