Sir Francis Boys has been appointed a member of the Bacon Development Board, says a London cable. The Hon. James McLeod, who has been spending the week-end at New Plymouth .returned yesterday to Wellington.
Mr. Eliot King, whose recent severe illness has prevented him from taking part in public affairs, was welcomed by members of the Pukekura Park Board last night. Members expressed the hope that he would return to good health quickly. Cr. J. F. Duschenski, who was recently elected a representative of the west riding of the Inglewood County Council in succession to Mr. R. Stuart, was welcomed at a special meeting of the council yesterday. The chairman, Cr. A. Corkill, said the new councillor was a well-known and highly esteemed settler and should prove a valuable member.
