Flood damage work to be carried out under the 355-25 s scheme included the construction of a groyne in the Ngatoro River above the Bedford Road bridge south of Dudley Road, and the restoration of the surface of Bedford Road south of Norfolk, from Hastie’s to Ritchie's.
On the suggestion of Cr. Willans, the widening of Ratapiko Road was included. It was decided to contribute £2O towards the work on Dudley East Road. The engineer was instructed to put the works in hand as soon as possible, the chairman expressing the opinion that with the improving conditions the unemployed might not be available much longer.
