EGMONT A. & P. SHOW

RICHLY ENDOWED SCHEDULE. CLASSES NUMBER OVER 400. The most richly endowed schedule ever presented to exhibitors is the claim of the Egmont A. and P. Association in regard to its schedule for this year’s show to be held at Hawera on November 20 and 21. A perusal of the schedule shows plenty of justification for tire claim of the association. The Egmont show has been described by many of those in a position to judge its worth as the leading show of the Dominion. The richness of the trophies and the comprehensive nature of the classes place this year’s schedule higher even than that of last year’s jubilee show. . Pride of place among the trophies goes to the Arundell Challenge Gold Cup, the 100-guineas cup recently presented by the president, Mr. John' Forbes, for the exhibitor winning most points in the purebred classes in the livestock sections, horses, cattle, sheep and pigs. Each year’s winner will receive a replica in silver. The champion dairy cow will receive the Henry A. Lane canteen of cutlery, valued at 45 guineas, while the class for two dairy cows in milk, judged on dairy type, carries again the 100guinea Weddel and Co. silver cup. The association has had presented to it no fewer than nine silver tea services and trays, which will be competed for at the show. The people of the district, and many from other districts, have been lavish in the provision of prize money and trophies, with the result that there will be a considerable increase in the prize list. Over 400 classes are in the schedule, covering as comprehensive a list as any show in New Zealand in cattle, sheep, pigs, horses, competitions and home industries. Three trotting events will be contested on the second day, each carrying a silver tea service and tray for the winner. , Stewards have been appointed as follows:—Ground supervisor, Mr. E. A.
