MYSTERY AEROPLANE
STRUT FOUND IN HARBOUR. APPARENTLY IN SEA SOME TIME. By Telegraph-Press Association. Nelson, Last Night. An aeroplane strut was found on the Boulder Bank in Nelson Harbour. It is 4ft. 6in. long and is painted red with an under-colouring of blue. It bears the letters “D.H.” . An aluminium air speed indicator is attached to the strut, the corroded state of the metal fittings indicating it has been in the salt water or exposed to the air for some months.
