OAKURA CARD PARTY

DISTRICT'S INTEREST IN GOLF. An. enjoyable evening was spent at Mr. and Mrs. F. Bagley’s home at Oakura on Saturday, when they entertained about 25 guests at a flag 500 party. Those at the winning table were Misses Sheila Harper and Mary Goodwin and Messrs. H. Tills and Harper with 24 flags. Keen interest is being taken by the residents of the Oakura and Tataraimaka districts in the temporary golf course on Mr. D. Harvey’s property. About 30 or 40 gather there each Sunday, and it is hoped that in the near future a golf club will be formed. Mr. C. K. Price, who injured his shoulder while wrestling at the Y.W.-Y.M.C.A. at Hurford Road, on Saturday evening, is in the New Plymouth hospital under observation for a few .days. Miss Marjorie Goodwin, who broke her collarbone in a bicycle accident, is progressing favourably.
