Dunedin, Last Night The annual meeting of the Standard Insurance Company was held to-day, Mr. W. E. C. Reid presiding. It was decided to recommend the payment of a dividend of Is 3d a share, absorbing £125,000, and to carry forward £20,055 12s. The retiring directors, Messrs. G. W. Hutchison (Auckland) and Herbert Price were re-elected. GOLD RETURNS. Gold returns are reported as follows by the Press association:— by the Press Association: Gillespie’s gold return, 40oz. Bdwt. for 130 hours; Okarito, 320 z. 4dwt. for 108 hours; Waipapa Beach, 61oz. 4dwt; for 127 hours; Bendigo Goldlight, soz. lldwt. at the end of last week. The Mataki return for the week ended September 1 was 41oz. for 134 hours of work.
