FOLK DANCING FESTIVAL

CLASSES AT NEW PLYMOUTH. Since the movement was first launched folk dancing has become . increasingly popular at New Plymouth and a festival, which will, continue until September 11 is being held at the Boys’ High . School. Under the tutelage of Miss Hilda' Taylor, Whangarei, classes are given Entertaining instruction in the .Assembly Hall every evening 'and are already making rapid progress. The, dancers plan to, give a public demonstration of many of the quaint and rhythmic dances at the conclusion of the festival.

The folk dancing enthusiasts claim a distinct physical as well as an aesthetic benefit from their pastime and the dances are much appreciated by spectators. Mrs, H., E. Ayckbourns is in charge of the organisation.
