LUSK BEATS WRIGHT IN FINAL.

THERMAL CUP EVENT DECIDED.

Rotorua Last Night.

In the final of the Rotorua open golf championship to-day H. B. Lusk (Auckland) beat R. D. Wright (Auckland) 3 and 2.

In the final of the Thermal Cup event for the second 32 to qualify A. G. Pott (Rotorua) beat A. Walden (Rotorua) 3 and 2.

The tournament, which was held by the Rotorua Golf Club, was opened yesterday in boisterous, windy weather. The championship title-holder, L. Seifert, Miramar, was eliminated in the quarter-finals by the Auckland veteran R. Rainger, who was in turn beaten by Lusk. Wright eliminated A. Poole, the youflg Rotorua player, who last year was runner-up to Seifert. Results Of play yesterday were: H. B. Lusk . (Auckland) beat J. Goss (Wanganui) at the 19th; Rainger (Auckland) beat L. Seifert (Miramar) 1 up; R. D. Wright (Auckland) beat S. E. Carr (Rotorua) 1 up; L. Poole (Rotorua) beat O. H. Williams (Manawatu) 4 and 3.

Semi-finals: Wright beat Poole 4 and 3; Lusk beat Rainger 2 and 1.
