Major C. H. Douglas, interviewed by the Sun-Herald service following the Alberta social credit triumph, said: “I expect the credit system to make strides elsewhere, including Australia and New Zealand. There are prospects of immediate success in New Zealand, particularly if the social credit party obtains the balance of power in the Canadian Federal elections."
