New Zealand Butter Praised.
In a letter received by the Yorkshire Society of New Zealand from the Yorkshire Society of Torquay and district, the honorary secretary of the latter society writes: “My ..wife regularly buys New Zealand butter because it is of uniform quality and really too cheap. Think of it having to come so far and then being only lid and Is per lb. Our local butter is more like Is 6d and varies very much.”
Veterinary Science Study. The urgent heed for providing facilities in New Zealand to enable students to qualify as veterinary surgeons was stressed at the annual meeting of shareholders of Heretaunga Dairy Company in Hawkes Bay, and it was decided to place the matter before the authorities and to enlist the support of all breed societies. Mr. G. E. Williams, who spon-
sored the proposal, raid that New Zealand had an educational system by which first class qualifications could be obtained in medicine, law and other professions. The time had arrived when stock should be cared for in a proper manner and kept up to a high standard. A college for the training of young men in veterinary science would be invaluable, to the Dominion.
