Mrs. K. Dawkins, Palmerston North, is visiting her mother, Mrs. F. Hammond. Miss G. Butler is visiting relatives, at Auckland. . .
Mesdames Varnham, Conway and Hunt, New Plymouth, attended the military ball on Wednesday night. A team of Stratford women golfers visited Opunake during the week-end. The Opunake team won five games and one ended.all square. The team was entertained at dinner before play commenced. Mrs. Fryday, on behalf of Stratford,' thanked the Opunake team for the pleasant day spent. Miss C. H. Marcroft replied. The Stratford team comprised Mesdames Boon, Fryday, Power, Carter and Ebbett, Misses Henry, Penn (2), Ennis, Porritt, Tombs and Guthrie. The Opunake team comprised Mesdames R. Morris, Brennan, Ritchie, Thomas, Marcroft, Watt and J. Morris, Misses Trotter, O’Sullivan, N, Feaver, Mcßeynolds and E. Fraser.
