GOLF BALL AT PATEA

CARLYLE CLUB GATHERING.

The first annual ball of the Carlyle Golf Club, held in the Patea town hall on Monday night, was ,a complete success, the large attendance being representative of a wide territory. The club’s colours, black and white, were employed to advantage for the decorations in both the hall and supper room. The catering arrangements were simplified by serving supper at a single sitting, an innovation that proved popular. The tables were decorated by Misses B; McCarty and 0. Adams. Mesdames J. N.' Anderson, W. Lester and D. Roots supervised the supper arrangements. Messrs. A. B. Currie and J, N. Anderson were the masters of ceremonies. Hookers’ orchestra provided the music.
