GOLF BALL AT PATEA
CARLYLE CLUB GATHERING.
The first annual ball of the Carlyle Golf Club, held in the Patea town hall on Monday night, was ,a complete success, the large attendance being representative of a wide territory. The club’s colours, black and white, were employed to advantage for the decorations in both the hall and supper room. The catering arrangements were simplified by serving supper at a single sitting, an innovation that proved popular. The tables were decorated by Misses B; McCarty and 0. Adams. Mesdames J. N.' Anderson, W. Lester and D. Roots supervised the supper arrangements. Messrs. A. B. Currie and J, N. Anderson were the masters of ceremonies. Hookers’ orchestra provided the music. Among those present were Mesdames F, Ramsbottom (maroon velvet), A. B. Currie (lemon crepe suede anti cape), J. Anderson. (scarlet satin and coatee), G. Taylot (maroon velvet and silver), E. O’Reilly (black lace), F. Hamel (black lace), J. Boyle (ivory georgette), R. Haddow (black and oyster lace), W. F. Sheild (wine frock and coatee), J. Cunningham (black taffetas), A. J. Gibbs (black suede), E. Harris (black taffetas and silver lame), Lazatus (ivory satin and coatee), Hill (torquoise velvet and coatee), Austin (rose ring velvet and cape), H. Boagly (black satin and velvet), M. Sumich (black velvet), R. Reid (cherry net), J. Boyle (ivory georgette), D. Fraser (jade ring velvet). Misses D. Roberts (green floral ninon), G. Kelly (mgroon and beige), L. Kirkman (white taffetas and red), S. Horridge (pink floral georgette), E. Gibbs (floral matalasse), M. Kettles (black satin and diamante), H. Good (ivory and blue floral georgette), Beale (eau de nil and velvet coatee), D. Cleaver (floral taffetas), L. Campbell (black satin and cherry), Montgomery (black lace), J.
