NO MORE INTERMEDIATE EVENTS. PROFESSOR WILSON PRESIDENT., By Telegraph—Press Association. V/ffiington, Aug. 29. At . the annual meeting of the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association last night Professor F. P. Wilson was elected president for the ensuing year. It was decided to abolish the intermediate championships in the New Zealand tournament and re-establish the New Zealand Plate. A motion to fix the New Zealand chatnpionriJip "dates to commence on Boxing Day in each year was lost Each association is now free to specify the dates it considers most suitable for success when making application to hold the New Zealand tourney. It was. stated that .application would be made from individual leading players contemplating visiting Australia for tennis tournaments for a subsidy from the New Zealand Association. The question of sending a team of subsidised players will be considered by the management committee.
