The Marchese Marconi, in an interview with journalists at Santa Margherita, admitted that he was engaged in the final stages of experiments with a short-wave ray with which it might be possible to stop various types of motors, including aeroplane engines. Marconi said that the discovery had j no connection with warfare, but he could not say whether or not it would assist hi fighting an enemy. Marconi at the end of September, will join the engineering section of the Signal Corps in East Africa. He is renouncing the rank of captain in the navy.
