AUCKLAND CITY PROPOSALS. TOTAL EXPENDITURE OF £644,100. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. As part of the proposed extensive scheme of works to be undertaken in the city and spread over the next three years recommendations were placed before the city council to-night by the finance and town-planning committees of the council. The recommendations, involving the expenditure of £644,100, w’ere adopted. The finance committee recommended that application be made to the Local Government Loans Board for permission to raise a loan of £444,100, less subsidy, for the following works:—Drainage £60,000, cleaning and relining water mains, £30,000; waterworks depot and reservoir, £50,000; streets, £258,982; Nelson Street extension, £35,000; conveniences, £10,000; cost of raising loan, £llB. The town planning committee’s scheme provides for the erection of approximately 125 flats and 125 semi-detached houses) it being recommended that application be made to the Local,Government Loans Board for permission to raise a loan of £200,000, less subsidy, for the purpose.
