RIVERLEA DISTRICT NEWS.

PERSONAL AND GENERAL ITEMS. Ameeting at Riverlea on Monday decided to celebrate the junior hockey team’s success with a ball at which the championship cup will be presented. Mrs. Gargan (supervisor) and Mesdames D. Benton, Thoumine and Misses T. Gargan and E. Hardaker were appointed a supper committee, with power to add. Messrs. Harold Gargan,! Hardy Benton, A. Rothe and S. Clarke were appointed masters of ceremonies. Mr. Thoumine and Miss T. Gargan will supervise the decorative and colour schemes work. Mr. D. Benton was appointed secretary, and Mr. E. Mills and Mr. E. Johns will control the tickets and doors. Mr. and Mrs. Haire and family have left to take up residence at Lepperton, where Mr. Harre has been appointed headmaster of the school. Miss Brown left for Stratford for part of the school holidays. Miss Stone, Rowan Road, is spending the school vacation at the Chateau Tongariro.
