BADMINTON PROVINCIAL FINAL. NEW PLYMOUTH JUST BEATEN. Hawera beat New Plymouth by 19 aces in the final of the Spalding Shield badminton competition at Hawera last night, each winning six sets. Women’s doubles: Mesdames Smith and Wilton lost to Mrs. Baigent and Mjss Kemp 13—15, Misses Abraham and Webster lost to Misses Bright and Lovell 4—15, Mesdames Smith and Wilton beat Misses Bright and Lovell 15 —14, Misses Abraham and Webster lost to Mrs. Baigent and Miss Kemp 7—15.
