MANGATOKI GOLF BALL
REMARKABLE DECORATIONS. Rarely has the Mangatoki hall presented such a picturesque setting as it did last Wednesday for the golf club’s ball. The members of the club had spared no efforts to turn the hall into a garden scene. The stage represented a bower of roses, while tree ferns with gaily-coloured flowers entwined in them covered the walls. The canopy of coloured streamers overhead was relieved with trails of greenery interspersed with flowers. A large green basket of multicoloured delphiniums formed a centrepiece. The supper room was also gay with streamers and hanging baskets of ferns.
A record number of dancers, including visitors from the Opunake, Eltham, Hawera, Stratford, Te Ngutu and Mangamingi clubs was present. Among those dancing were: Mesdames J. L. Taylor (black lace), E.
