A romantic production entitled “The Romance of Beethoven” will shortly go into production at Twickenham under the direction of Bernard Vorhaus. Beethoven’s music will be introduced into the story in a natural way. When completed the film will, be released through British Dominions Films.

Warner Brothers are , negotiating for the screen rights of “The Petrified Forest,” Robert Sherwood’s play in which Leslie Howard is at present appearing on Broadway.. Warners have offered £23,000, but still have not got it. If they do, Leslie Howard will repeat his. stage performance in the film.

Margaret Sullavan, who has one more picture to complete this year, will be starred .in “Next Time We Live,” the story of which is by Ursula Parrott. It appeared as a serial in McCalls Magazine under the title of “Say Good-bye Again.” It has not been decided who will have the lead opposite Miss Sullavan, but of those already under consideration it is expected that Francis Lederer will be given the role.

United Artists’ productions for the coming year include six pictures from Samuel Goldwyn, Merle Oberon in “The Dark Angel,” Miriam Hopkins in “The Barbary Coast,” “Splendour,” Eddie Cantor in “Dreamland,” also “Goldwyn Follies” and “Navy Born.” _ Charlie Chaplin is making two with his “Production No. 5” and one with Paulette Goddard. Reliance Pictures will provide “Red Salute,” “The Melody Lingers On,” “Amateur Girl,” “Robin Hood” with Rxbert Donat as the star, and “The Last of the "Mohicans.” ' "
