COLD TEMPERATURES LIKELY. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The weather will be changeable and squally, with scattered rain in most districts, says the 4 p.m. forecast. Heavy falls Are probable in parts of the western areas and snow is likely on some of the ranges. Temperatures will be cold. An intense westerly depression extends across the Tasman Sea and New Zealand, one centre of which is located today west of Foveaux Strait. Winds between westerly and south-westerly will prevail, moderate to strong generally and of gale force at places. Seas will be high on the west coast of the North Island and rather rough to rough elsewhere.
