LEPPERTON FARMERS

MEETING OF UNION BRANCH. At the monthly meeting of the Lepperton branch of the Farmers’ Union on Saturday Mr. H. E. Blyde presided over a good attendance. Mr. L. B. Webster addressed the meeting on the growing of potatoes, giving valuable advice. He explained the cause of failure in potato crops. Numerous questions were answered. A talkie film depicting historical buildings in which famous American citizens, inventors and leaders of huge industrial enterprises lived and worked was shown. A second film demonstrated vzork in a huge factory and the system employed therein. It showed the processes required in converting raw materials such as pig iron, copper, cotton etc. into a modern motor-car. The demonstrator was Mr. Cliff, New Plymouth.
