L As a result of the tariff war with Poland, a state of emergency has been proclaimed at Danzig, says th® Danzig correspondent of the Times. Herr Arthur Greiser, President of the Senate, has been given dictatorial powers. To save the city from starvation he has proclaimed that imports of foodstuffs, coal and other essential commodities henceforth will be free from duty, thus opening the German-Danzig frontier, . , The situation arises from the recent Polish refusal, to allow goods destined for Poland to pass through' Danzig unless duties were collected in Polish currency, resulting in the complete cessation of transit traffic on which Danzig, depends.
