National Pig Recording.

National pig recording is still some way off in this Dominion. At the annual meeting of the Pig Breeders’ Association, it was stated that the Department of Agriculture could not as yet see its way to go on with such a scheme, although it was hoped that the Scheme might be established in the next year or so. Nothing definite has yet been arranged, however, and breeders will have to carry on as at present, utilising local pig recording clubs where they are in existence. Several pig clubs have been started in Taranaki, but so far recording work has not been taken up very much in this province.
